The end of the road: Celebrity divorces in 2025

It can be hard to announce the end of any marriage, but for Hollywood celebrities, the intense scrutiny of the world’s media must make it doubly difficult. 2025 saw some long-established celebrity marriages break down and end in divorce, often with quiet dignity, as Director Rita Gupta notes.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban

Joint net worth: almost $500 million

The couple announced in September 2025 that they have separated after 19 years of marriage. Kidman filed for divorce at the end of that month citing irreconcilable differences, and their divorce was finalised in January 2026. The couple have two daughters together, Sunday Rose (17) and Faith Margaret (15). The girls will spend 306 days a year with their mother and 59 days with their father.

According to the Daily Mail, both parents have a monthly income approaching $100,000 and both have waived all rights to child or spousal support.

“The divorce decree ... ensures that all property, from household furniture and appliances to vehicles, bank accounts, investments, and personal items, is divided to the mutual satisfaction of both parties, with each keeping what is already in their possession ...The final decree also confirms that all alimony and spousal support claims are permanently waived, and any remaining court costs will be split equally between the former couple.” (1)

Kidman was previously married to Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001. The couple divorced after 11 years, with both co-parenting their two adopted children.

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren

Join net worth: approx. $150million

The “Fantastic Four” actress and former director’s assistant first separated in 2024. After 16 years of marriage, Alba then filed for divorce in January 2025, with Cash filing to finalise the divorce a year later in January 2026. People magazine noted that:

“According to the court documents ... filed by Warren on Friday, Feb. 13, the couple will not pay one another spousal support. The ...divorce is uncontested and Warren is seeking final approval from the court.” (2)

Alba has considerable wealth since founding her business The Honest Company, although her own net worth has fluctuated with the worth of the business. In 2016, Forbes put Ms Alba’s net worth at $340million, and her company was valued at $1.7 billion. However, since Alba only owns 6% of the company, her worth was more like $100million then, and is still in 2026.

Which makes her pay cheque of nearly $8 million in 2021 impressive, which according to The Hollywood Reporter, comprised of a $6 million stock award, a $563,077 salary, and a $1.4 million bonus. Nice work if you can get it. (8)

According to Cosmopolitan (9) Cash has a net worth of $50 million. That puts their joint net worth at a minimum of $150million. According to Celebrity Net Worth website:

“Jessica owned just over 6.1 million shares. In their divorce settlement, ex-husband Cash Warren received half of those shares ... To equalize the division of assets, Jessica agreed to pay Cash a $3 million lump sum.” (10)

The couple seem to have worked well together to co-parent their three children. An Instagram post by Alba on Father’s Day reads:

“Our babies couldn’t have a better dad — warm, kind, present, always knowing just what to say. I admire your patience and the way you hold space for them. Making them feel safe and light after every conversation. Thank you for being their rock.” (2)

Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer

Join net worth: approx. $50million

Comedian and actress Schumer announced her divorce to chef Fischer just before Christmas 2025. The couple have six year old son together. Schumer, best known for the 2015 film “Trainwreck”, her own sketch show and the sitcom “Life & Beth”, revealed she has Cushing’s Syndrome in 2024. She also made a documentary series that followed her pregnancy and diagnosis of endometriosis. At the time of the divorce Schumer posted:

“Amicable and all love and respect! Family forever.” (3)

Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty

Joint net worth: $15million

After 12 years of marriage, ITV’s “This Morning” host Deeley and host of RTÉ's “The Late Late Show” Kielty separated in July 2025. The couple have two sons, and said in a joint statement:

“We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved. We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment.” (4)

The couple married in Rome and lived in California for 14 years as Deeley built her career. Kielty started his career as a stand-up before moving into TV presenting. (5)
