LGFL Ltd: Our Community and Charitable Ventures
As lawyers who spend our days helping families, we passionately believe in supporting the wider family we all belong to - our community.
Supporting local community initiatives and organisations fits with our core values of care and professional responsibility. We also support national and international charities through regular donations and awareness-raising activities. These include:
- Local sporting events and teams sponsorship
Including local youth football team Reading United Under 13s (go the Biscuit Boys!), Reading School football team, and Theale and Tilehurst Cricket Club. We aim to support teams that encourage their players to be the best they can. In turn, we take part in active events such as the Reading Legal Walk. - National charities
Including the Alzheimers Society, MacMillan Cancer Support, Free a Girl, Save the Children, Royal British Legion, Jeans for Genes, Race for Life, Smalls for All and more. - Local charities
Include First Days in Reading, Wey Valley Horse show, Launchpad Reading, and Idina’s Toilet Twinning Mission, started by a Nottingham schoolgirl. We also sponsor a child in Zimbabwe through international development charity Creating Better Futures in Reading.
Supporting local businesses
We believe in using business suppliers whenever possible, and developing long-term partnerships with them to support and sustain the local economy and entrepreneurship.
Inspiring the next generation
We have helped inspire the next generation of lawyers through the former Law Society Mentoring scheme. We also run our own local intern scheme, our own mentoring activity, and give talks to students and young aspiring lawyers at schools and at events.
