LGFL put best foot forward for local kids

We’re delighted to announce that LGFL are the new sponsors of a dance class that allows disadvantaged children to enjoy the performing arts and build their confidence in a safe and supportive environment. The Popley Spotlight Centre near Basingstoke offers a whole range of activities for children, and sponsorship helps make these affordable and accessible to all.

LGFL Ltd sponsor the popular children’s street dance class at the Centre, run by the Spotlight UK charity. The charity works to build confidence, self-esteem and social interaction for disadvantaged children and adults alike, providing care and support with no exclusions.

At LGFL, we chose to support Spotlight UK as the charity’s work very much mirrors our own experiences encountered in our roles as family lawyers. LGFL Partner Rita Gupta explains more:

“We wanted to support a local charity that was helping improve the lives of disadvantaged youngsters in a positive and progressive way. Spotlight UK gives children who have little of their own and who come with difficult backgrounds the chance to experience activities that other children take for granted.

 

“Children can come to the Popley Spotlight Centre and express themselves in a performing arts class or workshop, play pool or table tennis, or just chill with friends in a safe and supportive environment. What makes the Centre exceptional is they extend their open door policy to all ages, welcoming in the isolated, the vulnerable and the lonely. It’s an amazing place.”

As respected local family lawyers, LGFL Ltd have been active in several local charities and initiatives over the years. We already sponsor a local youth football team in Berkshire, and LGFL staff regularly participate in a variety of fundraising activities from fun runs to charity coffee mornings. This latest sponsorship initiative extends our company’s involvement further south in our home county of Hampshire in supporting the local community.

The Spotlight UK charity is desperate for more funding and volunteers to assist with their vital work. We’d like to make a plea on their behalf for the local community and other businesses to become involved with Spotlight and support them.
