Rita Gupta - Director

Rita Gupta grew up in Nottingham. She moved to London to read law at the London School of Economics and Political Science, then returned to her home town to complete her professional training at the Nottingham Law School.

Rita trained with IBB solicitors, a large regional practice with offices in Middlesex and Buckinghamshire where she gained a keen interest in Family Law.

On qualification Rita moved to Pinto Potts solicitors, working with Anne Leiper in the Family Law department. Rita was actively involved in the department’s marketing strategy and developed an expertise in children law and in the areas of domestic violence resolution.

Following a personal relocation Rita worked as a solicitor at Goughs in Wiltshire, a leading regional firm. During her time at Goughs, Rita practised in all areas of Family Law but specialised in complex children cases, becoming a member of the Law Society’s Children panel.

In 2008, she collaborated with Anne Leiper again to jointly form the practice of LGFL LLP (now LGFL Ltd) and has over thirteen years experience in the area.

Rita deals with all areas of Family Law covering divorce, finances, cohabitation issues and children. Rita has expertise in cases involving children, being a former member of the Law Society’s Children Law panel and is particularly interested in dealing with financial settlements where the interests of minor children are paramount.

Rita is currently developing her practice in the area of ‘relationship planning’, either by way of prenuptial agreements or cohabitation agreements. Rita is well known for her approachable nature and for adapting and tailoring her advice to individual clients and their circumstances.

Rita is a member of the Law Society’s Family Law panel and is a member of Resolution. She is also passionate about nurturing new young legal talent, and is on the Law Society Mentoring Scheme. She also runs the Internship and Mentoring programme here at LGFL Ltd (read more about internships here).

"Leiper Gupta Family Lawyers represented me during a Residency order for my 4 year old daughter. My daughter ended up living with me and my family. We are so happy knowing she is safe and happy.

I don't believe I could have got to this stage without the services of Rita Gupta and her team at LGFL Ltd. They understood that this was a new process to me which at times could be very stressful, and were always there when I needed support.

Their professionalism put me at ease and I know I made the right decision to go with them. They guided me through the whole process, and their advice was swift and exceptional.

Rita is friendly and very approachable. She gets the job done whilst keeping you constantly in the loop. If she is unavailable, her support team is there to help you with any queries.

I would highly recommend LGFL Ltd especially if you're dealing with any complex Children Act cases."
